The Refinishing Process
Gutter Chip Out
This is a cross section of a gutter we chipped out. It shows the amount of material we take out in order to keep the pool at its original water level. It also gives the pool a more finished look once we install the new 6" backsplash tile.

After the gutter chip out new 6" backsplash and waterline tiles are installed to establish a 2" slope. This gutter is ready for plaster.

The new finish is installed with proper 2" slope from top of waterline tile to bottom of backsplash tile. Nice flush Gutter Grates!!

With old gutter bodies removed new gutter bodies are properly installed, molded to fit flush with the new finish and required slope.
Wall Returns
Existing wall returns are cut out. New leak stopper wall returns are installed and sealed with special hydraulic waterproofing cement. The fitting is installed flush with the new finish. This provides a water tight seal around the penetrations.

By replacing all the white goods the pool receives a fresh new look and any potential leaks are sealed.

Surface Preparation
Surface preparation includes a combination Scarification and 5000 psi Pressure Blasting to remove all loose material that may compromise the adhesion of the new finish.

Staples
Noticeable cracks on the wall or floor are stapled to help prevent future cracking. Staples are not meant to bring the crack back together but to help prevent future cracking of the new finish. The staples are installed using bolts and epoxy that drys harder than concrete.

They are then covered with hydraulic cement to help seal and secure them in place. They are installed at 12 inch intervals along the crack.

Lasers provide accuracy to insure level installation of the waterline tiles. This ensures the gutter skims at optimum performance to allow the surface to be as self-cleaning as possible.

The existing paver deck coping was installed with too much sand and too little cement in the mortar.

The coping was removed and reinstalled using the right mortar. If we notice a problem, we let you know so together we can make it right.
